Are your programs expensive?

PACC Career Centre is a public educational institution. Therefore, program fees are paid by the Ministère de l’Éducation et de l’Éducation Supérieure (MEES).

Candidates accepted only need to pay for student fees, varying from 500$ to 1000$, depending on the chosen program. Student fees include the cost of material, textbooks, uniforms and administrative fees.

While some candidates may be eligible to receive funding from Emploi-Québec, others may apply for the Loans & Bursaries program available through MEES.

Are career or personal counselling services offered at your centre?

Yes, a Guidance Counsellor, member of a professional order (OCCOQ), provides career counselling relating to Vocational Education for the general population and students. Communication is done through emails, telephone, in person or virtual meetings. However, due to the pandemic, individuals who are not students at the centre can only meet virtually.

Short-term personal counselling is also offered to PACC students who may be facing personal challenges. The Guidance Counsellor will listen to you, support and encourage you to express and explore your concerns and help you cope with your difficulties.

What measures have been put in place to ensure the safety of students and staff during the pandemic?

As always, at PACC the wellbeing of our students and staff remains our priority. All pedagogical activities have now resumed through a combination of on-line learning, in-house exams and laboratory classes. Anyone entering the Centre must adhere to the strict social distancing and sanitary regulations specified in the Centre’s COVID-19 protocol and the CNESST’s Workplace Sanitary Standards Guide – COVID-19.

What are some elements that would help me reach my goal?

Our teachers are passionate and through their support and encouragement, they create an atmosphere in which each student feels valued. They believe that the keys to success in our programs are:

  • Choosing a program that suits your interests and abilities
  • Attend classes every day
  • Make it a priority to be actively involved in the learning process
  • Ask for help when needed
  • Be a team player

Maintain a positive attitude

What happens if I fail an exam?

A remedial session and a retake exam would be available to students who have failed a written or practical exam, granted their attendance record meets the ministry standards.

Will I be guaranteed a job after graduating from one of your programs?

While we cannot offer job guarantees to graduates, the high-quality level of the training that you will receive including hands-on stages in industry and a job search component will prepare you for a successful job search.

Teachers from all departments have developed a network with industry representatives who contact them when they have job openings. In addition, many employers visit the centre to recruit students. Job prospects are very good for all programs offered at our centre.

Is the Vocational Education diploma recognized in industry?

Yes, absolutely. For positions that our graduates apply for, employers expect them to possess a Vocational Education Diploma (DEP).  Graduates from the Health, Assistance and Nursing program must also acquire a license with a professional order (OIIAQ) in order to practice in Québec. The Ministry of Education is in close contact with industry to ensure that the content of programs reflects industry standards.

Is it easy to access your centre using public transportation and is there a parking lot for students?

Students can access the centre using bus 112 from Jolicoeur Metro or bus 495 from Angrignon Metro.

Student parking is available at the reasonable cost of $40 per session, with a priority given to students who live far from the centre.
